Tour Information
The Kish Walk – A Historic Town Walk through Arklow, Co Wicklow (Historic Town Walk)

Join your experienced local guide for a 3 hour historic town walk around Arklow, with its rich maritime history you will also visit the Maritime Museum.  See where the Vikings first landed here and the site of Cromwell’s invasion.    The route winds its way down towards the harbour, passing several historic sites en route, and goes along the beach to the quarries at Arklow Rock, originally opened in the 1880s by Charles Stewart Parnell.  Pass an 800 ft extinct volcano and see great views north and south along the coast and westward towards Lugnaquilla.  The route goes to the Kish Bridge where a Bronze Age hoard of tools was discovered in the 1830s and is now housed in the National Museum. The route continues allowing the opportunity to visit some of the more interesting monuments in Arklow cemetery.  Immerse yourself in the history of this place.
